Vision and Values

The Nest Core Values

1. Rooted in safety (Security)

‘A strong Nest begins with a sturdy foundation’  Before a child can learn, they must feel safe. For our youngest babies and children this means consistent caregivers and a rhythmic routine. For our older children  it means an environment where they feel safe to take risks, make mistakes, develop resilience and express their emotions.

2. Gentle Nurture (Well-being)

The Nest has a warm, ‘home- from-home’ atmosphere. We prioritise kindness, physical comfort and emotional intelligence. We treat every child as an individual and ensure that they have the attention and love to thrive.

3. Curious Exploration (Learning)

We nurture children’s natural curiosity and love of learning. We encourage messy play, outdoor discovery and “why” questions. We provide the tools, support and space for children to investigate the world around them and explore new things.

4. Intentional independence ( Growth)

We support the children in our care to reach their milestones through age- appropriate challenges and encouragement. These stepping stones are crucial building blocks which are celebrated along the way. The joy of seeing a child developing their independence and showing pride in themselves is wonderful.

5. Shared Community ( Partnership)

The Nest isn’t just for children, it’s for families. We value transparent communication, shared goals with parents, and a sense of belonging for everyone who opens our
doors.
